Amber Rose is rising above her recent body-shaming incident with Dancing with the Stars judge Julianne Hough, who reportedly said she felt uncomfortable during Rose’s performance last week.

Muva was quick to shut down any mention of Hough at SlutWalk LA, which promotes women empowerment, telling Hip Hollywood, “I’m not talking about that.”

Rose will have to come to terms with Hough sooner than later, because she is facing the DWTS judge Monday night, when she performs live for their Cirque du Soleil-themed show.

The 32-year-old TV personality flaunted her curves at the second annual event, sporting a black corseted bodysuit, black lace coat, fishnet tights, and over-the-knee boots. Must See: The Weeknd Rocks SNL With ‘Starboy’ And ‘False Alarm’

By Tatiana Toomer | October 2, 2016 |HipHollywood.com

Abel Tesfaye, a.k.a. The Weeknd, emerged as the musical guest for the season premiere of Saturday Night Live, performing two new singles off his LP Starboy. Tesfaye seems to be recreating his image by showcasing his falsetto in genre-bending new tracks and a more commonplace hairstyle.

Tesfaye first hit the SNL stage with his title track, “Starboy,” featuring dance duo Daft Punk. A giant-sized cross beamed brightly behind the singer as the stage was covered in a thick fog during the performance.

The 26-year-old artist also performed his pulsating dance-punk song “False Alarm,” which further signifies his evolving sound. Fans will get to hear more of The Weeknd’s new music when he releases his Starboy album November 25.

Check out his live performances below.

Trey Songz took a break from the Hollywood spotlight to spend time with fans in Kenya for Coca-Cola’s flagship African music show, Coke Studio Africa. The showcase is in its fourth year and brings together an array of African musical talent. While in the city of Nairobi, Songz hit the stage with artists from Ethiopia, Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda and Mozambique.

The 31-year-old singer also took time to take pictures with adoring fans, and even caught himself requesting a photo from a Nairobi native. While exploring the downtown area, a young boy with an empty cup and a big smile caught his attention. After Songz gave him what he says was the equivalent of fifty dollars, he asked the little boy to take a photo with him because he was “overwhelmed with gratitude.”

Kanye West Finally Joins Instagram, See His First Post!

By Tatiana Toomer | September 19, 2016 | HipHollywood.com

Get ready to see Yeezy in a whole new light! Kanye West joined Instagram on Sunday and wasted no time posting his first photo. The 39-year-old kept it simple with a shot from the 1990 film Total Recall, which stars Arnold Schwarzenegger.

In less than 24 hours, West garnered upward of 800 thousand followers and over 300 thousand likes. He has frequently made headlines for his epic Twitter rants, but only time will tell how he will choose to use this social media app to his advantage.

West joining Instagram is a questionable move, considering that it is a mobile app and the controversial rapper claimed to have gotten rid of his phone last week.

On September 14, he tweeted, “I got rid of my phone so I can have air to create.”

Meet The Hot Men Of Ava DuVernay’s ‘Queen Sugar’!

By Tatiana Toomer | September 3, 2016 | HipHollywood.com

Oprah Winfrey and Ava DuVernay are bringing the heat this fall with their new drama Queen Sugar on OWN. The series marks the second collaboration for the dynamic duo and follows the lives of three siblings in the aftermath of their father’s death. All of the episodes are directed by women, but all of the men in the cast make for some pretty good eye candy.

We caught up with the cast at the show’s Hollywood premiere, and did a little research on this delectable casting.

Kofi Siriboe stars as Ralph Angel Bordelon, the youngest sibling who is trying to get his life back on track. If this 22-year-old model/actor looks familiar, you may have caught a glimpse of him in the blockbuster hit Straight Outta Compton last year.

Timon Durrett plays Davis West, the captain of a professional basketball team who is facing harsh allegations. Durrett is a gym enthusiast and he recently played an officer in Barbershop: The Next Cut.

Deric Augustine plays a basketball player who is the best friend of Durrett’s character. Augustine told HipHollywood his character is going to bring some trouble.

“I play Felix… and he’s not a good guy. That adds flavor to the show, right? Add a little flavor, a little spice,” Augustine suggested.

The Louisiana native won’t make his debut until the finale, but we’re hoping we’ll see him a lot more in Season 2, the show was already renewed weeks ahead of its premiere.

Greg Vaughan gets the series off to a steamy start with his tastefully crafted love scene with co-star Rutina Wesley.

“It wasn’t originally scripted as like…with nothing to bare,” Vaughan told us. “I think it was very important for our characters to have that type of intimacy level as adults,” he continued.

Vaughan plays an officer who is having an affair with Wesley’s character, and he definitely has the credentials to turn up the heat. He was once credited as “Sexy Man” on the CBS show Extant. Vaughan is also a soap opera star and the proud father of three adorable boys.

Queen Sugar also features industry vets Glynn Turman, Dondre Whitfield, Omar J. Dorsey, and newcomer Nicholas L. Ashe. Tune in for the two-hour premiere September 6 and 7 on OWN.

Beyonce Uses MTV VMAs As A ‘Black Lives Matter’ Platform

By Tatiana Toomer | August 28, 2016 | HipHollywood.com

Beyonce gave the performance of all performances at the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards Sunday night, singing a medley of hits from her Lemonade album. Her 16-minute set included strong messages projected in the background such as, “God is God, I Am Not,” and her dancers forming the female gender symbol. The least subtle and most pertinent message was her tribute to the Black Lives Matter movement.

The 34-year-old singer’s opening act of Pray You Catch Me, featured her dancers suddenly falling to the ground in a pool of red light as the beat hit, seemingly representing gunshots. Then a man in a black hoodie could be seen approaching the singer from behind and gently resting his hands on her shoulders. The strong visuals in this one number were a direct reference to gun violence and police shootings.

Beyonce set the tone earlier in the evening by bringing the mothers of Eric Garner, Michael Brown, Oscar Grant, and Trayvon Martin to the ceremony with her, and posing with them on the red carpet.

Oh No! Alicia Keys Forgets The Lyrics To This ’80s Hit

By Tatiana Toomer | August 27, 2016 | HipHollywood.com

Alicia Keys gave her fans a mini performance Saturday night, singing by the piano with pop singer Charlie Puth. The two artists attempted to sing Babyface’s 1989 hit Whip Appeal, but there was just one problem. They forgot most of the lyrics.

After just a few lines into the song, Keys can be heard saying, “…don’t know that part, forgot.” The pair jump to the hook, where they hit all the right notes, but after that it continues to go downhill.

Keys and Puth have not announced it they will be collaborating on a song, but both can be seen this season on The Voice.

Paul McCartney Doesn’t Think Kanye West Is A Genius

By Tatiana Toomer | August 10, 2016 | HipHollywood.com

Rolling Stone just released their cover story featuring Paul McCartney, who opened up about everything from the Beatles to Kanye West. When asked if he thought West was a genius, Sir Paul said that he regarded Ye as more of a “great artist.”

“I don’t throw that word around [laughs]. I think he’s a great artist. Take My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. I played it when I was cooking, and it was like, “This is good. There’s some really innovative stuff,” the 74-year-old musician remarked.

If you remember, back in 2013, West told Jimmy Kimmel that he was in fact a creative genius.

“For me, you know, I’m a creative genius,” West said during Jimmy Kimmel Live! “And there’s no other way to word it. I know you’re not supposed to say that about yourself. And I say things the wrong way a lot of times but my intention is always positive.”

West and McCartney have collaborated on three tracks together, including their 2015 hit FourFiveSeconds with Rihanna.

Rolling Stone’s new issue hits newsstands nationwide on Friday. To read the full cover story, click here.

WATCH: Kendrick Lamar’s New Reebok Ad

By Tatiana Toomer | August 9, 2016 | HipHollywood.com

Reebok unveiled their Respect The Classic video this week featuring their latest collab with Kendrick Lamar. In the two minute clip, the Compton-born rapper delivers a freestyle and explains how he first discovered the iconic brand around the same time he started writing rhymes in school.

“By the time I started writing when I was 13, I knew from the jump I wanted something that was original, something that was classic,” Lamar revealed. “My first introduction to a classic shoe was the moment I stepped in school and I said to myself, ‘I want to put something down on paper.’ I started writing. Everybody in the classroom was wearing Reebok Classics.”

The 29-year-old rapper gives his definition of the word classic as, “timeless, rules forever,” which is embodied in the brand. He began collaborating with Reebok in 2015 to relaunch their ventilator sneaker, which first hit the shelves in 1990. In the brand’s latest push, Lamar rocked a selection from the Reebok Classic Leather Perfect Split Pack in the dual-color black and white style featuring a predominant rubber sole.
